Agus menatap layar ponsel, tangannya gemetar.

Nama pelanggan: Agus.
Foto profil: wajahnya sendiri.

“Ini… nggak mungkin,” bisiknya.

Perlahan, pintu rumah kayu itu terbuka lebih lebar. Dari dalam, bau nasi dingin dan daun pisang menyeruak—bau makanan yang sudah lama tak disentuh manusia.

Suara langkah kaki terdengar… menyeret.

“Mas Agus…”
Suara itu serak, seperti pita suara yang lama tidak dipakai.

Agus mundur, tersandung akar pohon, hampir jatuh.

“Kamu janji balik.”

Ingatan Agus menghantam kepalanya:
Malam hujan. Jalan gelap. Motor tergelincir.
Ia ditemukan pingsan, tapi temannya—sesama driver—tewas di tempat.

Nama temannya…
Agus juga.

Sosok itu tersenyum.

“Sekarang pesanan sudah sampai. Giliran aku pulang.”

Angin kencang berhembus.
Lampu motor Agus menyala kembali.

Rumah kayu itu lenyap.
Jalanan kembali normal.

Di ponselnya, muncul notifikasi terakhir:

Terima kasih sudah mengantar. Akun ini akan logout.

Sejak malam itu, setiap pukul 23.47, aplikasi ojol Agus selalu berbunyi…
namun tak pernah ada pesanan masuk.

Hanya satu tulisan di layar:

“Offline permanen.”

PART 1 - Pesanan Terakhir

Lampu motor Agus membelah gelap seperti pisau tumpul. Jam di dashboard ponselnya menunjukkan 23.47.

Satu notifikasi masuk.

Pesanan masuk — antar makanan. Lokasi: Kampung Sido Senyap.

Agus mengernyit.

“Ah, paling kampung baru,” gumamnya, mencoba menenangkan diri.

Motor melaju. Lampu jalan mulai menghilang satu per satu. Rumah-rumah berdiri jarang, pintu tertutup rapat. Tidak ada suara TV. Tidak ada anak kecil. Bahkan anjing pun tidak menggonggong.

Agus merinding.

Ponselnya bergetar.
Chat dari pelanggan.

Pelanggan: “Mas, jangan berhenti di tengah jalan. Langsung ke titik.”

Agus menelan ludah.
Ia belum berhenti apa-apa.

Jalanan berubah jadi tanah. Di kanan kiri, pohon bambu berderit pelan, seolah berbisik.

Sampai akhirnya…
peta berhenti bergerak.

Titik tujuan tepat di depannya:
Sebuah rumah kayu tua, tanpa lampu, pintu sedikit terbuka.

Agus turun dari motor.
Lampu motornya tiba-tiba mati sendiri.

“Mas… makanannya ditaruh di depan pintu saja.”

Suara itu bukan dari ponsel.
Itu dari dalam rumah.

Agus mundur satu langkah.

Lalu notifikasi muncul:

Pesanan selesai otomatis. Saldo masuk.

Di layar tertulis:
Pelanggan: A G U S

Jantungnya nyaris berhenti berdetak.

The Fire at Jojoran 3 Surabaya, Indonesian — Detective Rio and the Burning Truth in Surabaya

A Crime Investigation Story Inspired by True Events

Chapter 1 – A Morning Gone Wrong

The sun had barely risen over the narrow streets of Jojoran 3, a quiet neighborhood in Gubeng, Surabaya, when chaos erupted.

It started with a single, terrified scream.
“Maling! Maling motor!” — “Thief! My motorcycle!”

The cry came from Dian Mieke, a young mother who had just returned from picking up her son at school. She had parked her motorcycle in front of her small house, intending to go back inside for her purse. When she came out again, her bike — a silver matic scooter — was gone.

At the far end of the street, a man in a black jacket sped away on it.

Dian didn’t hesitate. She ran after him barefoot, screaming until her voice cracked. Her elderly mother, startled by the noise, rushed outside. The neighbors emerged too, their curiosity turning into fury as they realized what was happening.

Within seconds, the chase began.

Dozens of residents ran through the alleyways of Jojoran, shouting and blocking exits. The thief panicked, losing control of the stolen bike. The tires skidded on the uneven road before slamming into a lamp post.

He fell hard. Before he could get up, the angry mob surrounded him.

Someone shouted, “Tie him up! Don’t let him escape!”
Another yelled, “Serves him right! Too many of these thieves lately!”

A thick nylon rope was found, and the man was quickly tied to the very post he had crashed into. Someone brought out a small jerrycan of gasoline — perhaps from their workshop — and splashed it near his feet.

The intention, they later said, was only to scare him.

But fear, anger, and fire are a dangerous mix.

Chapter 2 – Flames in the Crowd

No one could agree on exactly how it started. Some claimed a police officer arrived and tried to cut the rope with a lighter. Others swore they saw a spark, a glimmer of blue light near the gasoline.

Then came the roar.

A sudden burst of fire engulfed the man’s chest and arms. The crowd screamed and scattered. Someone grabbed a bucket of water; another tore off his own shirt to smother the flames.

The man — later identified as Andri Sumarno — screamed as he ripped off his burning jacket, stumbling across the street half-naked, desperate to escape the inferno that clung to his skin.

By the time officers managed to douse the flames, it was too late.
He was alive, but barely.

An ambulance rushed him to the nearest hospital. The smell of burnt cloth and fuel lingered in the air like a curse.

Chapter 3 – The Arrival of Detective Rio

Later that afternoon, Detective Rio Santoso arrived at the scene.
He wasn’t part of the local police — not officially. But when cases became strange, when logic didn’t line up with reports, the police often called him.

A tall man in a beige jacket, his calm gaze swept over the chaos — the blackened asphalt, the half-melted nylon rope, the uneasy silence of guilt that hung over the neighborhood.

Standing beside him was Police Chief Eko Sudarmanto, his old friend from the academy.

Rio crouched near the base of the lamp post, brushing the soot with a gloved finger. The ground shimmered slightly, oily and dark.

“Eko,” Rio said quietly, “this wasn’t just gasoline from a bike tank. There’s something else here — maybe thinner or spiritus.”

Eko frowned. “The witnesses said it was an accident. A lighter sparked when one of my men tried to cut the rope.”

Rio looked up. “Maybe. Or maybe someone wanted to make sure the man never spoke again.”

Chapter 4 – The Woman Who Saw It All

Rio met Dian later that evening at her modest home. The house smelled faintly of jasmine and fear.

She sat on the couch, hands trembling, eyes swollen from crying. Her little boy hid behind her, clutching her sleeve.

“I didn’t want this, Sir,” she said softly. “I just wanted my motorbike back.”

“I believe you,” Rio assured her. “But tell me everything. From the beginning.”

She described how quickly it all happened — the theft, the chase, the capture. “Someone brought gasoline,” she added hesitantly. “They said just to scare him so he wouldn’t run. Nobody meant to burn him.”

Rio nodded, jotting notes in his small black notebook. “Do you remember who poured the gasoline?”

Dian shook her head. “It was chaos. Everyone shouting. I didn’t see.”

He could tell she was telling the truth. The tremor in her voice wasn’t from guilt, but shock — the kind that lingers long after the fire is gone.

Chapter 5 – The Forensic Trace

The next morning, Rio returned to the site with a forensic technician. Samples were collected — the melted rope, the scorched ground, and droplets of liquid residue found nearby.

Under the microscope, the chemical analysis confirmed Rio’s suspicion.

“It’s not regular gasoline,” said the technician. “It’s mixed with industrial solvent — probably toluene or thinner. Highly flammable.”

Rio sighed. “So someone came here with that mixture, poured it, and waited for the right spark.”

Eko crossed his arms. “You think someone planted it? Why would anyone go that far over a stolen motorcycle?”

Rio turned toward him. “Because maybe it wasn’t just a stolen motorcycle.”

Chapter 6 – The Hidden Message

Later, Rio reviewed the evidence collected from the thief’s possessions. Among them was a cheap smartphone, partly melted but still functional. The data recovery team managed to extract a few text messages.

One message caught Rio’s attention:

“Target Jojoran 3. Take it fast. Don’t be seen. If caught, burn the evidence.”

The phrase “burn the evidence” chilled him.

He looked at Eko. “This wasn’t random. Someone ordered him to steal that bike. And someone made sure he’d never tell us who.”

Chapter 7 – The Shadow in the Market

Tracing the sender’s phone number led them to Pasar Keputran, a busy local market two kilometers away. Rio and Eko visited the area, questioning shop owners and checking nearby CCTV footage.

Hours of footage revealed something disturbing. Just minutes before the fire started, a man in a black cap was seen loitering at the end of the Jojoran street. He lit something — possibly a long lighter — and walked away calmly as the blaze erupted.

Rio froze the frame. The man’s face was partly visible, enough to identify.

“That’s no random bystander,” he said. “That’s a hitman — someone cleaning up loose ends.”

Chapter 8 – Beneath the Surface

By cross-referencing police databases, Rio discovered that the thief, Andri Sumarno, was part of a larger motorcycle theft syndicate operating across Surabaya and Sidoarjo.

At the top of the chain was a man known as “Haji Darto” — a former mechanic turned black-market dealer. His operation specialized in dismantling stolen bikes, reassembling parts, and selling them overseas.

Andri had worked for Darto before. But he had become unreliable — sloppy, desperate for money, perhaps even willing to turn himself in for a lighter sentence.

So when he failed to complete the job at Jojoran 3, Darto decided to silence him permanently — by setting the stage for a “mob accident.”

Chapter 9 – The Raid

Armed with the new evidence, Rio and Eko led a joint operation that same night. They raided a small garage on the outskirts of Sidoarjo.

Inside, they found more than thirty dismantled motorcycles, dozens of fake license plates, and several containers filled with the same industrial solvent used in the burning.

At the back of the garage, they found Haji Darto himself — calm, smoking, as though he had been expecting them.

When Rio entered, Darto smiled faintly.
“Ah, Detective Rio,” he said. “You always come for the fires I didn’t mean to start.”

Rio looked at him coldly. “You didn’t start a fire, Darto. You started a war on human decency.”

Darto’s smile faded. The cuffs clicked around his wrists.

Chapter 10 – The Fire That Remains

A week later, the streets of Jojoran were quiet again. The black marks on the pavement were still there, faint but stubborn — a reminder of what anger and manipulation could ignite.

Rio returned one last time, standing beneath the same lamp post. The morning sun cast long shadows on the ground.

Sometimes, he thought, justice wasn’t about catching the thief or the killer. Sometimes it was about understanding why things burn — the anger, the fear, the lies.

As he walked away, he whispered to himself,

“Fire doesn’t just consume. It reveals. And in Jojoran 3, it revealed everything.”

He started his car, leaving the narrow street behind — but the smell of smoke, and the memory of a mother’s scream, would stay with him for a long time.

The End
(A Detective Rio Story — Surabaya, October 30, 2025)

Detective Rio and the Turmoil at the Parliament Building

The blazing sun hung over the Indonesian Parliament Complex (DPR/MPR RI), but the real heat came from the streets. Thousands of students and citizens filled the area, their chants echoing through the air:

“Dissolve the Parliament! Dissolve the Parliament!”

Banners stretched across the road, and the crowd’s energy pulsed like a living storm.
In the midst of the chaos stood Detective Rio, quietly observing. He wasn’t there to protest—he had a mission. Rumors had reached the authorities that someone was planning to turn the demonstration into a full-blown riot. Rio’s task: find out who.

His sharp eyes scanned the sea of people, searching for the unusual among the furious. He knew from experience—every riot has a hidden hand behind it.

The Vice President Arrives

Suddenly, sirens wailed. A convoy of black cars approached the gate. The crowd’s roar dimmed for a moment as Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka stepped out.

Calm but firm, he spoke into the microphone:

“I’m here to listen to the people. We can find a solution together—but not through violence.”

Some in the crowd cheered, others kept chanting. The demand remained the same—
the dissolution of the Parliament.

Inside the building, Speaker Puan Maharani was nowhere to be seen. Rumors spread quickly: she refused to come out and face the demonstrators. To the people, her silence spoke louder than words.

“If she truly represents us, why is she hiding?” one student shouted.

A Suspicious Discovery

While the Vice President tried to calm the crowd, Rio noticed a small group of men moving awkwardly behind a banner. They weren’t students—their posture was too controlled, their eyes too alert. One of them carried a large backpack.

Rio slipped into the crowd and followed them.
His instincts were right—they were paid provocateurs, sent to ignite chaos by throwing Molotov cocktails and attacking the police. Once the crowd turned violent, the movement could be discredited and crushed.

The Detective’s Move

Acting swiftly, Rio tackled one of the men as he tried to light a bottle. Within seconds, the police nearby rushed in and detained the group.

But Rio’s job didn’t end there. From one of the suspects’ bags, he found a confidential file—a plan detailing who had funded the operation. The names written inside made Rio pause. They were familiar—political figures, afraid that the people’s demand to dissolve Parliament might actually succeed.

The People’s Mandate

As the truth unfolded behind the scenes, the crowd’s chants grew louder and more united.
Vice President Gibran raised his hand and spoke once more:

“The people are the rightful owners of this nation. Your voices will be heard—but please, don’t let yourselves be used.”

The crowd roared in response, waving flags high.
Still, Speaker Puan never appeared. The people’s anger deepened, their trust fading fast.

Epilogue

As night fell, the Parliament building stood like a fortress of shadows.
Detective Rio watched the lights flicker across the massive complex, holding the secret files close to his chest. He had exposed the provocateurs—but he knew the real culprits were far beyond the streets.

“The truth in politics,” he murmured to himself, “is never simple.”

And through the night, the people’s cry continued to echo across Jakarta:

“Dissolve the Parliament! This is the people’s will!”

Wanita-Wanita Pezina Berdarah Asia yang Dihukum Mati di Batavia

Stadspoort, Batavia. Foto sekitar 1900-1910.

Nearly three decades ago, a group of archaeologists made a surprising and terrifying discovery while conducting research in a remote cave in the Mount Owen region of New Zealand. The cave was notoriously dark, damp, and difficult to access, so the exploration was carried out with great caution. No one expected that within the darkness, they would uncover something so extraordinary.

As they shone their lamps on the cave floor, the archaeologists were stunned. Before them was a giant claw resembling a dinosaur's. It was still fully preserved, with flesh, muscle, and scaly skin. It was so intact that it looked as if it had come from a recently deceased creature, not the remains of an organism thousands of years ago. At first, the research team even doubted their own eyesight, unable to comprehend what they were seeing.

After the shock subsided, the team of archaeologists immediately secured the find and took it to the laboratory for further examination. Various analyses were performed, from tissue structure examination to age testing using modern scientific methods. The results were truly astonishing. The mysterious claw turned out to be the approximately 3,300-year-old mummified remains of a highland moa, a giant prehistoric bird long thought extinct.

The Highland moa, scientifically named Megalapteryx didinus , was a species of moa bird that lived exclusively in New Zealand. This flightless bird had a large body and very strong legs. Research published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences indicates that moa first appeared around 18.5 million years ago. In total, at least ten moa species once inhabited the region.

Sadly, the moa's existence ended tragically. Scientists call their extinction one of the fastest megafauna extinctions ever recorded, largely due to human activity. Overhunting and environmental changes due to human arrival are believed to be the primary factors in the disappearance of these giant birds from the face of the Earth.

Interestingly, the story of the moa actually began long before the discovery at Mount Owen. In 1839, a flax trader and natural history enthusiast named John W. Harris received a strange fossilized bone from a Māori tribe member. The Māori said the bone had been found on a riverbank, but he was unaware of the creature's origin.

 The question arises:

How is it possible that a practice resembling senicide (the disappearance or neglect of the elderly) is being discussed again in a technologically advanced 21st-century society?

The answer lies not in a return to cruel traditions, but in the unpreparedness of modern social systems to deal with an extremely aging population. Ubasute now lives on as a symbolic memorial , reflecting the fears, pressures, and ethical dilemmas facing Japanese society today.

Closing

From folk tales to real-life crises, the story of ubasute demonstrates that legends are often born from human fears of the limitations of life . In modern Japan, the legend resonates as a bitter reminder that technological progress does not always keep pace with social and humanitarian preparedness.

Ubasute is more than just a story from the past—it is now a mirror reflecting Japan's greatest challenge in the 21st century: how to care for the elderly with dignity in an aging world .

Penampakan Objek Misterius di Langit Kota, Warga Heboh Dugaan UFO Raksasa

An extraordinary, unprecedented sight suddenly shocked a large city one night. Hundreds of residents from various parts of the city reported seeing a giant object floating in the sky. The object was perfectly circular, with a series of bright white lights rotating in a regular pattern around it. The object appeared to hang silently in the air, as if observing the activity below.

According to witnesses, the mysterious object was first seen slowly emerging from behind thick clouds. Afterward, it stopped in one spot for several minutes without moving. Videos and photos captured by eyewitnesses clearly show the object's lights rotating symmetrically, creating a stunning and tense scene.

Some residents reported feeling a subtle vibration in the air as the lights began to flicker rhythmically. The vibrations felt like waves of energy spreading out, creating a silent and tense atmosphere. Many believe the flickering lights are not merely a visual effect, but rather a signal or form of communication.

“It was too big and too regular to be a drone or a regular plane,” said an eyewitness who managed to record the incident from the balcony of his 25th-floor apartment. “In my entire life, I have never seen a sky with a view like this.”

It didn't take long for the video footage and photos to spread widely on social media. Various platforms were filled with posts related to the phenomenon, and the hashtag "UFO sightings" quickly became a trending topic. Thousands of netizens shared their own footage and various theories, ranging from secret technology testing to the possible existence of extraterrestrials.

Meanwhile, a group of scientists from the local astronomical observation and research center reportedly conducted an emergency investigation. They collected visual data, analyzed light patterns, and studied the object's movement characteristics. Some experts noted that the structure and formation of the light observed were very different from any currently known human technology.

Speculation is growing. Some experts believe this phenomenon could indicate previously undocumented technology, even sparking serious discussions about the possibility of first contact with an extraterrestrial civilization.

To this day, city residents remain on high alert. Many choose to stay awake at night, hoping to witness the mysterious object's reappearance. Meanwhile, celestial phenomenon hunters and independent researchers are beginning to arrive at the site, eagerly awaiting whether the night sky will produce a similar event again.
